A connector ramp linking two major San Diego freeways will be temporarily closed early Saturday morning while state transportation crews perform drainage maintenance.
The California Department of Transportation announced it will close the ramp connecting northbound State Route 75 to northbound Interstate 5 from 3 a.m. until 8 a.m. on November 7. Workers will be cleaning drainage systems during the closure.
Drivers who need to access northbound I-5 from SR-75 during that timeframe should take an alternate route. They can continue traveling north on SR-75 toward the southbound I-5 connector, then take the National Avenue/27th Street exit. From there, motorists should turn right on National Avenue and then make another right to enter the northbound I-5 on-ramp.
Transportation officials are asking drivers to remain alert in work zones and watch for crews and equipment operating near traffic lanes. The scheduled maintenance could be delayed or rescheduled depending on weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other factors related to the work.
Real-time traffic updates and information about road closures are available through the state's online mapping system and the San Diego Caltrans social media accounts.
