The City of Vista's senior center is preparing for a festive Halloween celebration that will combine live theater with a traditional costume competition later this month.
The event will take place on October 30 at the Park Terrace Café, beginning at 11:15 a.m. The Wabi Sabi Players theatrical group will perform a dramatization of the La Llorona legend, a well-known folk tale from Mexican and Latin American culture. The story centers on a mourning mother who is said to wander along rivers during nighttime hours.
Following the theatrical presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the senior center's yearly Halloween costume competition, where participants can display their costumes.
Those interested in attending can make reservations by visiting the front desk at Park Terrace or by calling (760) 643-5288.
