Vista officials are gathering community feedback on plans to establish a Community Resilience Center at Luz Duran Park as part of an application for state funding.

The proposed facility would occupy the site of a single-story structure at 979 N. Citrus Ave. that was previously occupied by the Sheriff's Office. If funded, the center would operate throughout the year as a community gathering space while also serving as a resource hub for residents during emergency situations.

City administrators have launched a brief four-question survey to help determine what features and services the center should offer to best meet the needs of Vista residents. The survey is available in both English and Spanish.

Community members have until 8 a.m. on Monday, September 28, to submit their responses. Additional information about the project and links to the survey are available through the City of Vista website.
