The City of Vista has introduced a rental assistance program aimed at helping low-income senior citizens manage their housing costs. Known as STABLE, which stands for Senior Tenant Assistance for Balanced Living Expenses, the initiative will support qualified older residents with partial rent payments.

Applications for the program's inaugural cycle are being accepted through October 26. Officials plan to select ten seniors to receive assistance during this first round.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 65 years old and have a disability. They also need to reside in a rental property located within Vista's city limits and hold the lease or have legally established tenancy. Individuals already receiving rental help through other programs are not eligible.

Additional income and financial eligibility criteria are detailed in program materials available in both English and Spanish. Interfaith Services is administering the program and can provide further information at (760) 489-6380 or by email at getservices@interfaithservices.org. Details are also available on the organization's website at www.interfaithservices.org.
