Vista Fire Rescue will host the first in a series of community open houses this Saturday, October 3, welcoming families to explore fire safety and firefighting operations up close.

The free events will take place every Saturday from October 3 through November 7, running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week. This weekend's open house will be held at Fire Station 1, located at 175 N. Melrose Drive.

Attendees can expect a variety of interactive experiences, including tours of fire engines, demonstrations of firefighting equipment and protective gear, and displays showing how fire hoses operate. Multiple activity stations will be set up throughout the venue for visitors to explore.

Children who participate in a special passport program can earn rewards for their visit. Young attendees can pick up a passport booklet at the welcome table, then collect stickers by visiting all five activity stations. Those who complete the passport will receive a Vista Fire Rescue Junior Firefighter Badge along with a limited-edition Halloween sticker.
