County supervisors are scheduled to consider the continuation of a program designed to help residents during gaps in state assistance coverage during their meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

The Safety Net Bridge Program provides temporary support to individuals who experience disruptions or loss of their CalFresh food assistance or Medi-Cal health coverage. Officials previewed the upcoming board discussion during a press conference held earlier today.

County officials developed the initiative in collaboration with local health care providers, advisory boards, and community stakeholders. The program aims to fill critical gaps that can occur when residents face interruptions in their state benefits.
