San Diego County officials marked the completion of a new affordable housing complex this week, adding dozens of residential units to the North County region.

The development, known as Villa Serena II, is located on Marcos Street in San Marcos and contains 63 apartment homes. County leaders gathered to officially open the property, which aims to provide stable housing for families in need of affordable options.

Eligibility for the apartments is limited to households with incomes at or below 60 percent of the area median income level. The project represents an expansion of affordable housing stock in a region where such options remain in high demand.

The new community is situated at 339 Marcos Street and is now available to qualifying residents seeking housing in the San Marcos area.
