San Diego Unified School District is participating in the observance of National Latinx Heritage Month, according to district officials.
The annual recognition honors the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
National Latinx Heritage Month takes place each year from mid-September through mid-October. The celebration provides an opportunity for schools and communities to acknowledge the significant impact Latino and Latina individuals have had on American society.
