The California Department of Transportation has announced plans to temporarily shut down the connector ramp from northbound Highway 75 to northbound Interstate 5 for overnight maintenance work on two dates in September.
The closure will take effect from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on both Monday, September 14, and Thursday, September 17, to allow crews to complete striping operations in the area.
Drivers who need to access northbound I-5 during the closure periods can use an alternate route. The detour involves staying on Highway 75 north toward the southbound I-5 connector, then exiting at National Avenue and 27th Street. From there, motorists should turn right onto National Avenue, followed by another right turn onto the on-ramp for northbound I-5.
State transportation authorities are urging drivers to remain alert when passing through construction zones and to watch for highway workers and equipment that may be in operation. Officials noted that the planned work schedule could be adjusted depending on weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other operational needs.
