Transportation officials will shut down connector ramps linking westbound State Route 905 to Interstate 5 for four nights this month to perform roadway striping work.

The California Department of Transportation announced the closures will take place September 17, 21, 22, and 29, with work scheduled from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night. Drivers will need to use alternate routes during those hours to access the interstate.

Travelers coming from northbound Interstate 5 should exit at Coronado Avenue, make a left turn, then turn left again onto Hollister Street before proceeding toward Tocayo Avenue and State Route 905. Those approaching from southbound Interstate 5 will follow a similar detour, but will turn right initially onto Coronado Avenue before continuing on Hollister Street.

Drivers on westbound State Route 905 who need to reach southbound Interstate 5 must first use the northbound Interstate 5 connector, exit at Coronado Avenue, and navigate back to the southbound lanes. State transportation officials urged motorists to remain alert for highway workers and construction vehicles in the area.

The work schedule could be modified depending on weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction-related factors, according to Caltrans.
