Transportation officials will implement nightly closures of a key freeway connector in San Diego beginning Sunday evening as part of ongoing highway maintenance work.

The California Department of Transportation announced that the westbound State Route 94 ramp leading to northbound Interstate 5 will be inaccessible from Sunday, October 4, through Thursday, October 8. The closures will take effect at 9 p.m. each evening and remain in place until 4 a.m. the following morning to allow crews to complete concrete barrier installation.

Drivers seeking to access northbound I-5 during the closure periods will need to use an alternate route. The recommended detour directs motorists to continue traveling west on State Route 94, take the 25th Street exit, and then follow F Street to reach the northbound I-5 entrance ramp.

Highway officials are urging travelers to remain alert while driving through active construction zones and to watch for workers and equipment operating near traffic lanes. The planned work schedule could be adjusted if weather conditions, traffic collisions, or other construction-related issues arise.
