State highway officials have announced a series of overnight closures affecting connectors along State Route 94 in San Diego next week as crews perform barrier and guardrail maintenance.
The connector from westbound Highway 94 to northbound Interstate 5 will be shut down nightly from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. beginning Sunday, October 25 and continuing through Thursday, October 29, according to Caltrans. The closure will allow workers to complete concrete barrier installation.
Additionally, the connector from eastbound Highway 94 to both northbound State Route 15 and northbound Interstate 805 will close for two nights—Sunday and Monday—from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews perform guardrail repairs.
Drivers attempting to reach northbound I-5 from westbound Highway 94 should remain on the highway, exit at 25th Street, and continue straight on F Street to access the northbound I-5 on-ramp. Those traveling eastbound on Highway 94 toward northbound SR-15 or I-805 can exit at Euclid Avenue, turn left to re-enter westbound Highway 94, then merge onto either northbound freeway.
Transportation officials cautioned that the construction schedule may change due to weather, traffic incidents, or unforeseen circumstances. Motorists are advised to exercise caution near work zones and remain alert for construction personnel and equipment.
