State transportation officials will implement a series of overnight closures on State Route 94 connectors this week to accommodate construction and maintenance activities in San Diego.
The connector ramp from westbound Highway 94 to northbound Interstate 5 will be shut down nightly from Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. while crews perform concrete barrier installation. Additionally, the ramp linking eastbound SR-94 to northbound SR-15 will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. for guardrail repairs.
Drivers attempting to reach northbound I-5 during the closure should remain on westbound SR-94, take the 25th Street exit, and continue straight along F Street to access the northbound I-5 entrance ramp. Those traveling toward northbound SR-15 can stay on eastbound SR-94, exit at Euclid Avenue, make a left turn onto the westbound SR-94 on-ramp, merge onto northbound I-805, and then connect to SR-15 if necessary.
Caltrans officials urged drivers to exercise caution when traveling through active construction zones and remain alert for workers and equipment. The planned schedule could be adjusted depending on weather conditions, traffic incidents, or construction-related factors.
