The California Department of Transportation has announced a temporary closure of a major freeway connector in San Diego County for overnight construction activities this week.
The ramp connecting eastbound Interstate 8 to northbound State Route 67 will be inaccessible Thursday, November 5, between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. while crews perform bridge maintenance. The closure will impact drivers traveling through the area during those hours.
Motorists who need to access northbound SR-67 from eastbound I-8 during the closure should use an alternate route. Drivers can continue traveling east on I-8, take the Mollison Avenue exit, make a left turn, and then use the westbound I-8 connector to reach northbound SR-67.
Transportation officials are urging drivers to remain alert in construction zones and watch for workers and equipment operating near the roadway. The planned closure could be postponed or modified if weather conditions, traffic collisions, or other factors require schedule adjustments.
Current traffic conditions and updates on road closures throughout the region are available through the state's real-time traffic information system.
