A key freeway connector in San Diego will be temporarily closed overnight this week as transportation officials conduct infrastructure maintenance work.

The California Department of Transportation announced that the ramp linking westbound State Route 94 to Interstate 805 will be inaccessible on Wednesday, October 21, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Crews will be replacing concrete slabs during the closure.

Drivers planning to reach northbound I-805 will need to follow an alternate route: stay on westbound SR-94, take the 30th Street/32nd Street exit, head south to the eastbound SR-94 entrance, then use the northbound State Route 15 connector before merging onto northbound I-805. Those heading to southbound I-805 should follow a similar detour, exiting at 30th Street/32nd Street and using the eastbound SR-94 ramp to access southbound I-805 directly.

Officials cautioned that the construction timeline could shift due to inclement weather, traffic collisions, or other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers passing through the work zone are urged to remain alert and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
