The California Department of Transportation has announced an overnight closure of a major highway connector in San Diego County this week to accommodate bridge maintenance.

The ramp linking southbound State Route 67 to westbound State Route 52 will be shut down Tuesday night, November 3, beginning at 9 p.m. and continuing until 5 a.m. the following morning, according to Caltrans officials.

Drivers heading south on SR-67 who need to reach westbound SR-52 will need to use an alternate route during the closure. The recommended detour involves taking the westbound Interstate 8 connector, then traveling north on State Route 125, before accessing the ramps to either direction of SR-52.

Transportation officials are urging drivers to remain alert when passing through construction zones and to watch for workers and heavy equipment that may be operating in the area. The scheduled closure could be postponed or modified depending on weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other factors related to the construction work.

Real-time traffic updates and information about road closures are available through the state's QuickMap service online, as well as through Caltrans District 11's social media channels.
