Local residents will have the chance to learn about law enforcement operations through a no-cost educational program being offered by the Oceanside Police Department this fall.

The department is launching a Spanish-language version of its Community Academy, which will run for seven consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning October 13 and concluding November 24, 2026. Sessions will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the department's facility on Mission Avenue.

According to the department, the academy aims to give participants an inside perspective on police work while fostering better relationships between law enforcement and residents. Attendees will meet officers, observe department operations, and discover how they can take a more active role in community affairs.

The program represents an effort to improve dialogue and mutual understanding between the police force and the people it serves. Officials say the sessions will provide an informative setting where residents can ask questions and gain insight into local public safety operations.

Those interested in enrolling can register through the Oceanside Police Department's website. The program is open to residents of Oceanside.
