San Diego County officials have unveiled a dedicated online portal designed to help local residents begin preparing for what meteorologists are predicting could be an exceptionally strong El Niño weather event in 2026.

The newly created information center has been integrated into the Alert San Diego system by County Emergency Services. The hub serves as a centralized location where community members can access reliable preparation guidance and resources.

Weather experts are warning that the upcoming El Niño season may rank among the most intense on record, prompting emergency management officials to take proactive steps in communicating with the public well in advance of the weather pattern's arrival.
