San Diego's transit agency is encouraging soccer enthusiasts to use public transportation this weekend as both of the city's professional teams play their final regular-season home games at Snapdragon Stadium.

San Diego FC faces Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., while San Diego Wave FC meets Boston Legacy FC on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Metropolitan Transit System will run additional Green Line Trolley trains before and after both contests to accommodate the influx of spectators.

Transit officials are promoting several payment options to streamline the boarding process. Passengers can tap contactless credit cards or mobile devices at station validators for a $3 one-way fare valid for two hours. Alternatively, riders can use the PRONTO mobile app, which requires a minimum $6 balance to cover round-trip travel. Weekend travelers with families can take advantage of a promotion allowing two children aged 12 and under to ride without charge when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.

Free parking is available at Park & Ride facilities throughout the Trolley network. Agency representatives note that each passenger must use their own individual payment method, as group fares cannot be purchased on a single account or card.

The Metropolitan Transit System operates 93 bus routes and four Trolley lines across 10 municipalities in San Diego County, serving more than 250,000 passenger trips on typical weekdays.
