A key freeway connector ramp in San Diego will be temporarily closed overnight Tuesday as state transportation crews perform necessary guardrail maintenance work.

The California Department of Transportation announced the eastbound State Route 94 connector leading to southbound State Route 15 will be inaccessible from 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, until 5 a.m. the following morning. The closure will allow workers to complete guardrail repairs in the area.

Drivers planning to travel southbound on SR-15 during the closure can use an alternate route. The detour involves continuing east on SR-94, exiting at Euclid Avenue, making a left turn onto the westbound SR-94 on-ramp, and then accessing southbound SR-15 from there.

Transportation officials are urging drivers passing through the construction zone to remain alert and watch for highway workers and moving equipment. The scheduled work may be postponed or adjusted depending on weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction-related factors.
