The California Department of Transportation announced plans to temporarily shut down a highway connector ramp in the South Bay region on Wednesday, October 28, to conduct guardrail maintenance work.
The closure will affect the ramp linking westbound State Route 11 to northbound State Route 125, with work scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. During this time, crews will be making necessary repairs to the guardrail system along the connector.
Drivers who need to travel from SR-11 westbound to SR-125 northbound will need to use an alternate route. The detour involves continuing west on SR-11, then connecting to westbound SR-905 and exiting at Britannia Street. From there, motorists should turn left to access the eastbound SR-905 on-ramp and then follow the eastbound SR-11 connector back to northbound SR-125.
Transportation officials are urging drivers to remain alert for workers and construction equipment if traveling through the work zone. The department cautioned that the maintenance schedule could be adjusted depending on weather, traffic incidents, or other unforeseen circumstances.
