Transportation officials will shut down a key highway connector in San Diego for overnight guardrail repairs beginning this Sunday, October 11.
The closure affects the ramp linking eastbound State Route 94 to northbound State Route 15. Work crews will block access from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Friday, October 16, according to Caltrans.
Drivers needing to reach northbound SR-15 will need to use an alternate route during construction hours. Officials recommend staying on eastbound SR-94, exiting at Euclid Avenue, and turning left to access the westbound SR-94 on-ramp. From there, motorists can merge onto northbound Interstate 805 and continue to northbound SR-15.
Officials caution that the timeline could shift depending on weather, traffic incidents, or construction-related factors. Drivers traveling through the work zone are urged to remain alert and watch for highway workers and construction equipment.
Current traffic conditions and additional closure information are available through the state's QuickMap system at quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
