County health officials have wrapped up their investigation into a cryptosporidiosis outbreak connected to the Gaylord Pacific Resort in Chula Vista, announcing that all affected aquatic facilities have been cleared to resume operations.
The investigation centered on potential exposure to the waterborne parasite at multiple aquatic venues throughout the resort property, including swimming pools, spa facilities, and the resort's water park attractions.
Following comprehensive disinfection procedures, all previously closed aquatic amenities have now been fully reopened to guests. Cryptosporidiosis is a parasitic illness typically spread through contaminated water in recreational facilities and can cause gastrointestinal symptoms in those infected.
