The Oceanside Public Library will host two free performances of Shakespeare's Macbeth on Saturday, November 7, 2026, as part of The Old Globe's annual community theater initiative. The productions will take place at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the Community Rooms at the Civic Center Library on North Coast Highway.

The Globe for All tour is designed to bring professional theater to neighborhoods throughout the region, with most audience members facing obstacles to attending traditional theater venues. For many attendees, these performances represent their first opportunity to experience live professional theater.

Shakespeare's classic tragedy follows a Scottish warrior whose ambition leads him to seize the throne after receiving a mysterious prophecy. The story explores themes of power and its consequences through a dramatic narrative featuring supernatural elements including witches and spirits, making it particularly fitting for the Halloween season.

While admission is free and registration is not required, organizers recommend signing up in advance. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Light refreshments will be provided half an hour before each performance begins. Parking at the library is free but capacity may be limited, so attendees should plan to arrive early.
