Multiple downtown streets will be shut down for most of the day Sunday, Nov. 1, to accommodate the Carlsbad Village Faire, a major community gathering expected to attract tens of thousands of attendees.
The biannual event, organized by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and showcases more than 900 vendors along with international cuisine, live entertainment and rides for children. Road closures will begin around 4 a.m. and remain in effect until approximately 8 p.m.
Motorists planning to travel through the village area are advised to expect heavy foot traffic, vehicle congestion and pedestrian activity throughout the day. City officials are urging drivers to exercise caution and remain alert for people walking and cycling to the event.
Attendees can visit information booths staffed by the Carlsbad Police Department and Fire & Life Safety teams. The police booth will offer resources on traffic safety for all road users, while fire personnel will provide educational materials on wildfire preparation, smoke detector safety and fire prevention. Giveaways and interactive activities will also be available.
Additional details about the street faire are available through the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
