Health authorities have wrapped up their investigation into a cryptosporidiosis outbreak connected to the Gaylord Pacific Resort in Chula Vista, according to county officials.

The waterborne illness was traced back to the resort's aquatic facilities, which include multiple swimming pools, spa areas, and a water park. County health investigators launched their inquiry after reports of the parasitic infection among guests.

Following comprehensive disinfection protocols, all affected water features have now been cleared to resume normal operations. The resort's pools, spas, and water park attractions are once again available to visitors.

Cryptosporidiosis is a diarrheal disease caused by microscopic parasites that can spread through contaminated water in recreational facilities. The parasite is resistant to chlorine and requires specialized cleaning procedures to eliminate.
