Health officials will deploy trucks equipped with pesticide sprayers throughout Coronado neighborhoods this week in an effort to curb mosquito populations and minimize the threat of West Nile virus transmission.
The planned intervention will cover approximately 6,000 residential parcels, according to county authorities. Crews will apply an ultra-low volume mist designed to target adult mosquitoes in the affected areas.
The treatment represents a proactive measure to safeguard community health by reducing the number of mosquitoes capable of carrying and spreading West Nile virus. County officials scheduled the operation as part of ongoing vector control efforts to protect residents from mosquito-borne illnesses.
