Young artists across the Chula Vista Elementary School District have an opportunity to showcase their creative talents through a district-wide holiday card design contest. The competition gives students the chance to see their original artwork become the face of the district's official holiday greeting for 2026.

Participants may use a variety of artistic materials to craft their submissions, including paint, crayons, colored pencils, or mixed media approaches. Individual schools will select their top two entries to advance to the district competition, with the deadline for school submissions set for November 30.

Winners will be revealed on December 4, with the top three artists receiving monetary awards. The grand prize winner takes home $150, while second and third place finishers earn $100 and $75 respectively.

Beyond the prizes, all school-selected entries advancing to the district level will be featured in a public art exhibition at Chula Vista Center. The showcase will run from December 10 through the first week of January, giving community members nearly a month to view the student creations.

The competition receives backing from California Coast Credit Union and L Street Storage – Postal Annex. Students interested in entering should reach out to their individual schools for specific guidelines on how to submit their designs.
