Chula Vista Animal Services will welcome the public to a Halloween-themed open house and adoption event later this month, offering families a chance to meet adoptable animals while enjoying seasonal festivities.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the animal services facility located at 130 Beyer Way. Attendees are welcome to arrive in costume and participate in activities including trick-or-treating, vendor shopping, and other family-friendly entertainment suitable for all ages.

All adoption fees will be waived during the event, allowing families to take home dogs, cats, and other animals without the typical cost. According to Animal Services Director Ashley Milo, the open house serves dual purposes: celebrating community involvement with the shelter while educating visitors about the programs and services available to local pet owners.

Milo said the event aims to help neighbors understand how they can support the shelter's work and learn about resources for pets and families throughout the community. Officials hope attendees will leave feeling informed and potentially with a new pet joining their household.
