The William D. Cannon Art Gallery will reopen its doors to the public on Friday, Oct. 23, with the return of the Cannon Biennial Exhibition, showcasing creations from over 80 artists from the local area.

This edition of the recurring exhibition centers on the concept of "everywhere home," exploring how different individuals interpret and experience the idea of home in their own unique ways. According to city officials, the Cannon Art Gallery serves as a cultural hub that strengthens community identity and connections throughout Carlsbad.

An artists reception is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the gallery, located at 1775 Dove Lane. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the participating artists in person and cast votes for a community choice award recognizing their preferred piece.

The exhibition will remain on display through Jan. 3, giving residents who cannot attend the reception ample time to view the works. City officials indicated that additional interactive programming will be announced in the coming weeks, with details available on the municipal website and through the Cultural Arts team's email list.
