The City of Carlsbad has announced a full schedule of Halloween-themed programming taking place at various municipal facilities during October, offering activities designed for residents of all ages.
The month kicks off with a superhero-themed obstacle course on October 4 at Alga Norte Community Park, where families can navigate inflatable challenges over a 2K course. Later in the month, the same park's aquatics center will transform into a Halloween destination on October 17 with pool activities, a bounce house, and an opportunity for children to take home pumpkins from a floating pumpkin patch.
Library programming includes a free screening of the Halloween comedy film "Hocus Pocus" on October 21 at the Schulman Auditorium. Teenagers will have a chance to share original scary stories at an open mic event on October 29, with selected works to be featured in a literary display at the Library Learning Center.
Environmental sustainability meets Halloween at an October 24 event where residents can swap costumes and decorations, sharpen garden tools and knives at no charge, and drop off electronics for recycling. The Senior Center will host a morning social with dancing and a costume contest on October 28.
The Pine Avenue Community Center will offer carnival games, inflatables and a haunted house on October 30. The month concludes on October 31 with a free Día de los Muertos celebration at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park, featuring traditional altars, folk dance performances, and activities honoring the Mexican holiday.
