The Carlsbad City Library will host an author presentation next month featuring a San Diego writer whose latest work chronicles the life of a groundbreaking figure in local history.
Sandra Bonura, an award-winning author, will discuss her newly released book about Belle Benchley, the woman credited with transforming the San Diego Zoo from a modest local facility into an internationally recognized attraction. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at 11 a.m. in the Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium at the library's Dove Lane location.
Attendees can arrive beginning at 10:30 a.m., when doors open ahead of the program. Following Bonura's presentation, the author will remain available to sign copies of her book for those interested.
The library regularly organizes complimentary author events that provide residents opportunities to engage with writers across various literary genres, participate in question-and-answer sessions, and obtain autographed books. Community members can register to receive notifications about upcoming author programs through the library's email list.
