The Carlsbad City Library Learning Center has suspended operations temporarily after maintenance problems forced an unexpected shutdown beginning Thursday, October 8.
City maintenance personnel are addressing the issues in an effort to restore public access as soon as feasible, according to city officials. The nature of the maintenance problems was not specified.
Thursday's closure resulted in the cancellation of all events and programming that had been on the calendar for the Learning Center that day.
Residents seeking library services in the interim can visit two alternative locations: the Georgina Cole Library at 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive or the main Carlsbad City Library. Patrons may also contact library staff by phone at 442-339-2049.
City officials indicated they will announce a projected reopening timeline once more information becomes available. Updates will be distributed through the city's email notification system and social media channels.
