The bocce ball courts at Brengle Terrace Park in Vista are currently closed for renovation work, with the city anticipating the facilities will be available for use again during the second week of October.
The renovation project includes the installation of new wooden siding around each of the four bocce courts. Players will also notice a fresh playing surface when the courts reopen, as crews are replacing the existing material with an oyster shell surface.
City officials noted that nearby parking areas may be inaccessible at times while the work is underway. The temporary parking restrictions are necessary to provide access for construction vehicles and equipment used in the renovation.
The city thanked residents for their patience during the improvement project.
